Foil Wound Transformers

OECO employs a unique method for manufacturing foil wound transformers, connecting two dissimilar metals by “cold welding,” which provides the weight advantage of aluminum and the convenience of solderable copper terminations.

Additional benefits include improved temperature dissipation, reduction of hot spots, improved vibration capabilities and reduced layer-to-layer voltage stress, yielding improved dielectric strength required for rugged applications.  The reduced weight of the Company’s foil wound transformers ensures that it is the ideal solution for restricted weight and volume challenges involved in aerospace and defense electronics applications.
